The ISSA College of Exercise Science is a Title IV school, and our bachelor’s degree program, associate degree program, and Master Trainer certificate program are all eligible for federal student aid. Our dedicated team of Financial Aid Advisors is here to assist in establishing your maximum grant eligibility as part of a plan to responsibly finance your educational goals. As we transition to Lionel, the only thing that will change about financial aid will be our new name!
Our Financial Aid Guide will answer your questions about what types of assistance are accepted by the College of Exercise Science — soon to be Lionel University.
In order to use Federal Student Aid (FSA) funds to attend our institution, you will need to meet the following criteria:
To apply for financial aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To determine what funds you are eligible for, you will be asked to enter information about income and taxes paid so it is helpful to have past tax returns on hand during the application.
Note: Update of our institution’s name to Lionel University in the Department of Education database is currently in progress. Students applying for our Winter quarter will continue to use the ISSA College of Exercise Science Federal School Code of 042434 until further notice.

Frederick C. Hatfield, PhD, was co-founder of the International Sports Sciences Association and a world champion powerlifter. He embodied all of the qualities that we look for in our students. To honor his memory, we created the Frederick C. Hatfield Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to one applicant each year. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the ISSA College of Exercise Science associate degree program.* *up to $19,800
